Wk 1 - Nuke 3D and Camera Projection
In this lesson we got an introduction to the 3D space within nuke and how to project images to create a 3D space. First we projected an image of a tunnel onto a cylinder and brought in a camera in order to seem as though the camera was moving through the tunnel. Then we created a jail cell using an image that we cut into pieces (ceiling, floor, walls etc.) and a jail cell door.

Wk 2 - Nuke 3D tracking
First we rotoscoped the water out of the shot and then brought in a camera tracker to track the building, exporting out a camera from the information. We added a card to the scene with a checkerboard and stuck it too a couple of the points from the tracking data, making it stick to the wall.

next we cloned out the window using the rotopaint tool and used the same tracking data to follow through the video.

WK 3 - 3D equaliser
In this lesson was an introduction to 3D equaliser. We added shortcuts and also learned how to track points separating the foreground, middleground and background. Then after all the track points were tidied up and lens distortion was added we exported the points into nuke.

WK 4 - Workflow Nuke to Maya roundtrip
In this lesson we imported the scene from 3D equaliser into nuke and then into Maya.

Wk 5: Lenses and Cameras

ASSESSMENT 01
For this assessment my first step was to check the survey data to know what information must be added to the track in 3DE. I imported the footage and changed the lens information as needed (the film back width and the focal length). I tarted tracking my points at the different markers and other places that I thought would make a good track. I made sure all the points were under 1 by checking the deviation curve and calculating them properly. I also fixed the distortion, added locators and a 3D cube. After this I baked everything and exported the files in order to import into Nuke
In Nuke I imported the original footage and then the files from 3DE. I created a back outside node to add the lens distortion too. I cleaned up the exit sign by using a frame hold, and roto paint. In order to project everything I used a card node and added it to the camera. I lined up the card where the trackers were and also added the locators and cube to the scene. I then re-distorted it back and labelled everything using backdrop nodes.

ASSESMENT 02
For this assignment I was given a set of tracked footage and I brought it into Maya and added my own 3d elements to it (all of which I sculpted myself). After I adjusted it how I wanted I rendered out the sequence and brought it into nuke. Where I then adjusted the format.

The image to the left shows a model of a stuffed elephant toy I sculpted for fun.

FINAL VIDEO
For the next one I imported a model of a rat that I had modelled for another assignment.

FINAL VIDEO
For the next one I imported a model of a robot that I had modelled also for another assignment.
